Missing Chicago

It’s been a strange couple of days. I keep getting phone calls from people in Chicago asking me what bar I’m hanging out at. Last night, while I was sitting on the couch watching the evening news, I got a phone call from Oilman. He didn’t talk at all. All I could here was loud music and people screaming. (Probably didn’t even know he called me).

This is the first time I’ve ever missed a U.S. SES show. I tried my best to make it, but the combination of a solid month of travel from the middle of October and the type of wicked cold you can only catch after a week of 5:00 am nights in Vegas made it impossible. I don’t think I have ever felt so rundown, and behind on work.

But the upside to sitting this one out is the fact that I plan on dedicating some of the extra time to re-learning how to blog. It’s amazing how difficult it is to get back into the swing of things when you’ve taken some time off. All the bloggers in our space are so fast to jump on anything newsworthy that you end up feeling like the little old lady who’s been driving in the right lane with her left blinker on for the past 20 miles because she just can’t drive fast enough to catch up with the flow of traffic. So please bear with me while I get re-acquainted with the accelerator….

Hey Greg… sounds pretty familiar … doing the 16 + 8 hours flight hell is a reason I really pick the shows to get to (those with great private birthdays are preferred) - but I see what you mean … the old MarketingFan lady got her blogamania today pushing out 4 posts … and still having 2 in draft…

damn / it’s late here in Vienna :-)

That was actually a very intentional phone call. We (me and the Monster Commerce crew) where at TrueLocal’s party and there was no way we would have heard you on the phone but figured you might like to hear us ;)

That was cruel and unusual punishment.

Got something to say?
