Looking For a Few Good People
Interested in living and working in sunny Southern California?
We’re going to be moving into new office space at the end of March. The new place is quite a bit bigger, so we’re going to need some new people to help fill it up.
Specifically, I’m looking for a couple new programmers, a designer (a CSS guru) and an additional SEO who can handle complex consulting assignments.
The majority of our work is performance based. That means if we don’t perform, we don’t get paid. But if we do perform we get paid really well.
If you think you might be a fit, send me an email telling me about your experience and skill set.

I am so ready for something new. Now I just need to sell off my companies here and convince my wife to quit her job and move to california!
What kind of coders are you looking for? Mostly php or other?
Hello,
Where in SoCal is the office?
I’m interested in the SEO position… Is this FT or Contract work? What is the pay scale?

Full time. I’d rather not get into any more specifics here on the blog. If you are interested, shoot me an email with a resume and we can talk more.
I’ve also got the Nebraska / Cali delimma. I’d love to move, but there’s this deal with in-laws and a wife that doesn’t want to move while her parents are in failing health. Oh, well. I’m basically a Perl geek anyway with enough SEO skills to keep our business growing faster than we can hire customer service and warehouse personnel.
Maybe I’ll talk to you a bit in NY in a few weeks anyway. You never know what can be worked out until you try.
Greg I could relocate with my team

Why would someone have to relocate, couldn’t you find some people who could work remotely? I don’t understand this office thing, virtual office - now you are talking!

I’ve worked that way for many years. And so have many other SEO companies. But I’ve found that productivity (especially in terms of software development) is much better in the3-D world. Plus, having people in-house makes beer Fridays much more fun.
Beer Fridays? Where do I sign up?
We do beer and a burger fridays here in San Diego. Otherwise I’d consider jumping ship.
Hey, if its warmer there, than it is here in this god forsaken cold shitty rainy damp cloudy can’t go out on my fuckin bike of a Sunday and do 10 miles country, then hey, sign me up
Ps. Do they do Stella Artois there?
I want a job! What do I have to do?! You spam king!
Now you almost had me until you said Valencia. That’s almost Bakersfield, man. There seems to be quite a few seo’s moving to Santa Monica (where I live) & West LA, you might just pick up a few out of the Yahoo group in Pasadena. Are you considering moving your office either into the valley or else by the coastline? I can’t imagine you’re actually based out of Valencia…pretty rough commutes for those living by/on the water…
When you mention complex consulting projects–are you talking about efforts for our own sites or efforts for clients who are risk-aggressive? Who doesn’t love trying to explain SEO & timeframes to a traditional/old-school marketing director? Having gone from thousands of clients to just 1-3 now, I’d really want to know what the average lifetime/project would be (or is it all ongoing 99.999% of the time?)
I want to wish you guys all the success in the world (unless you guys get into one of my verticals)
Hey, don’t forget it is now a global economy. Just hire a bunch of Asian coders for a few dollars a day and zero benefits. Or some Americans, if they can live on that!
Ok, so I’m at SES and I have one thing to say about my earlier comments in this post.
IT WAS A JOKE. I don’t need all these job offers being thrown at me, although I’m flattered. Really, I’ve already turned down some almost obscene amounts of money. Unless someone wants to get totally obscene (needs another digit for that), then I don’t want to hear about it. Otherwise, I’m happy where I’m at.
Greg, your blog has too much power… not that it’s all bad, but wow. I never expected this much response.
Anyone in the Boston area offering “obscene amounts” for job offers? lol
Beer Friday reminds me of the good ole days.
We didn’t have a beer dringing day.
We had a beer drinking hour. 5 O’Clock..!
Now I just take my wife shopping on Friday.. ;(
