v7ndotcom elursrebmem Link Data

Now that Google has finally caught up and surpassed (currently returning over 32k results) both Yahoo and MSN when it comes to v7ndotcom elursrebmem SERPS, I thought it might be interesting to begin tracking backlink data for the top 20 sites. I’ll try and update it every week or two.

Spreadsheet #1 contains data broken down by domain. (This sheet contains a few indented listings, so it isn’t really the top 20. I’ll remove indents on future sheets).

Spreadsheet #2 contains merged data (with dups removed) of all backlinks. (If you were a link hunter looking for every site currently linking to a v7ndotcom elursrebmem page, this would be the spreadsheet for you).

Damn … that’s some impressive consolidation of data. Let me make sure I understand how you get it.

You are scraping the top-20 sites in the big “G”, then I’m guessing doing a Yahoo backlink check, and then grather misc. PR/IP/outbound links from scraping those pages and nslookup/etc. sources … and then feeding into a nice spreadsheet (?)

Very cool … please keep posting updates of this.

P.S. Do you (or have you thought about) adding a “days linked” column? You’d obviousely need to incorperate time as another dimension by scannning previous data, but I could see this being of interest.

Backlink data is pulled from all three engines. (although because the contest is so new, most bl data in these sheets came from Y only).

As far as tracking “days linked”, it might be of value for the contest, but the tool that collects the data is used for real SEO projects where you don’t have any way of knowing the date links were established. At this point, I don’t think we’d spend time adding a feature that would only be used to monitor a contest.

That some nice data there Greg. I see you have a column in the spread sheet which gives a value for each link. How exactly do you go about calculating this? I’m guessing its a combination of the pages rank and number of OBL but could you please clarify this?

I’m guessing its a combination of the pages rank and number of OBL

Your guess would be fairly accurate. It’s just a score that helps you find those hidden gems. When you sort by that column, you’ll see that the highest PR pages aren’t always the best in terms of passing juice.

Why is my Joomlablog in this xml-list???

Please delete ist. I have deleted long time ago the Posting of the contest in my blog, because blogger.com will delete blogs with the vn7 contest content.
I have found the Exelsheet through a backlink checker. Please delete it. Thank you.
    Sorry my english is bad.

And how did you make this list??

  7. WebGuerrilla on February 10th, 2006 4:57 pm

It’s in the list because your site showed up as a backlink to one of the contestant sites when we pulled the data.

I don’t plan on deleting the file unless you can explain why you would need it deleted.

    Thank you.
Because I have immediately deleted my v7n-Contest-Posting from my Blogger Blog - because Blogger.com is deleting Blogger-Blogs with the V7n-Contest-Content in it :( And my Blog has PR6, I will not get deletet from Blogger.com.*fear*
Some blogs are already deleted by Blogger.com.
So it is better to delete all the Backlinks.
    I hope, you understand, thanks.

How did you make this list?

    Bye, Wally

Got something to say?
